Purpose/Summary: An individual contributor who ensures that art and animation production is enhanced by the use of advanced technical processes, systems and software.
*Essential Duties: Works directly with artists, animators and engineers to develop software tools and scripts that enhance and streamline the creation of art and animation. Prepares and implements technically challenging art and animation as required. Participates in determining technical and artistic approaches and in developing new or enhanced technical tools. Mentors less experienced members of the team to develop fluency with tools and techniques.

Typical Requirements
Knowledge/Experience: Proven traditional artistic/technical skills in both 2D and 3D production; thorough understanding of interactive entertainment methodology and the video game production pipeline; strong organizational and communication skills; ability to solve complex technical problems; proven proficiency with 2D/3D art and animation production software and current Retro 2D/3D art production tools. Minimum two years' experience in art and animation production for interactive entertainment, including minimum of one product cycle as a technical artist in the industry.
Education:
Undergraduate degree in art related subject or completion of an intensive art training program or equivalent.
Human Relations:
Effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills to
interact with Retro/Nintendo personnel.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced environment with fluctuating production
requirements; may be necessary to change specific duties,
projects, schedule or direction on short notice; overtime,
weekend and holiday work may be required; up
to 10% travel.
Responsibility: May be given team-leading responsibility for a smaller production, which could include responsibility for implementing the overall technical processes, systems and software.
